About Mind EQ

Welcome and thanks for visiting. I started Mind EQ in 2018 after 10+ years of mindfulness and meditation practice.

I specialize in teaching others how to spend more time being present through meditation and mindfulness exercises, which provide the opportunity to get more enjoyment out of each day while simultaneously increasing our mental and physical well being. I offer training to individuals, public groups, and corporations of all sizes.

Dan Petrie

UCLA-Trained Mindfulness Teacher - San Francisco Bay Area

In 2017 I became a Trained Mindfulness Facilitator through UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center founded by Dan Siegel, M.D. and Susan Smalley, Ph.D. In addition to secular mindfulness training, I’ve studied extensively in the Vipassana and Zen traditions under world renowned teachers Howard Cohn of Spirit Rock Meditation Center, and Abbot Charles Tenshin Roshi and Vice-Abbot David Jokai Blackwell of Yokoji Zen Mountain Center. My studies and practice also include long term residential retreats at Yokoji Zen Mountain Center and Tassajara Zen Mountain Center.

Outside of teaching and practicing mindfulness, you can find me on my road bike in Marin Headlands, at a dinner party cooking with friends, watching a hockey game, or reading non-fiction.

I look forward to working together.

Client reviews

“Mux had Dan run a mindfulness workshop for our team's Day of Learning. Dan was reliable, professional, and made our session very accessible and enjoyable. We had both a guided meditation and a learning session followed by discussion. We enjoyed the session and went through the rest of our day more aware and present, and the learnings continue to be talked about and practiced here at Mux”
